Bold lines stand out on a small screen to captivate social media - but after many years of experience thinner lines will hold better in the long run for immense detail.
When you take a full arm and condense it to the size of a phone screen, it becomes harder to read and appearing even thinner than in reality - and less likely to stand out on the internet and become viral. So many artists choose to make tattoos that go viral due to it's absurdness or how it is seen on a tiny phone screen, not how it looks or heals in real life.
I choose to do what looks good in real life and what heals better for the detail involved.
Remember though, this isn't fine line (single needle) tattooing, just thinner lines that will age gracefully
